What is Twisting?
Twisting is called when the fibers are wrapped around an axis (yarn axis) in order to provide resistance against the tension forces that the yarn will undergo during fabric formation.
In the weaving of a fabric, two different types of yarns with both “S” and “Z” twists are used in the warp, and therefore, a patterned fabric is obtained due to the reflection of the rays in different ways from these yarns.
Twisting process keeps the fibers of the yarn together and increases the strength. When the fibers are twisted, the yarn is obtained. If more than one yarn is brought together and twisted again, plied yarns are obtained.
What is Winding?
The winding machine is a yarn finishing machine that performs the process of making a bobbin by winding the yarn bobbin to another bobbin in order to facilitate the works and processes in weaving, knitting and dyeing, and cleaning the yarn faults. The machines that wind the bobbin yarns and bring them into bobbin format are called yarn winding machines. The output obtained from the yarn winding machine is called bobbin.
What is Fixing?
Fixing is a high temperature vacuum steaming process with steam at temperatures above 80 °C to stabilize twist in high twist, multi-ply and synthetic filament yarns. Twisting the yarn on itself during weaving and knitting fabric formation causes defects and poor-quality fabric. In order to increase the strength of the yarn in response to untwisting and twisting of the yarn, the twist must be fixed.
